Srinagar, Jun 28 (KMW): Two people, including a minor, were killed and over 100 others injured when security forces opened fire, burst teargas shells and resorted to lath charge to disperse demonstrators in different parts of the Kashmir valley. However, officials and police did not say anything about the clashes, resulting in rumours about the killings. This evoked more protests in other areas. The injured included some security personnel also, official sources said. Four people were hit by bullets at Lawaypora and were later shifted to SMHS hospital. A report from Baramulla said a ten-year-old boy was killed when security forces opened fire to disperse the ''pro-freedom'' demonstrators at Delina in this north Kashmir district. His body was later taken to the main town. The security forces again fired in the air, burst teargas shells and resorted to lath charge to disperse the demonstrators at the main town area. Security forces also opened fire at Kapran when a procession was moving towards the main Sopore town, resulting in serious injuries to one Tajamul. He was later shifted to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. About two dozen people, half of them security personnel, including a senior police officer, were injured in a clash between the ''pro-freedom'' demonstrators and security forces at main chowk Handwara in the frontier district of Kupwara.The demonstrators were protesting against fresh killing of youths in security force firing in Sopore.Reports of clashes between security forces and demonstrators were also received from more than two dozen other areas of Srinagar city and Anantnag.
